THE SKI SEASON STARTS IN ANDALUCIA
"Centuries ago, the white mantle that covers the Sierra Nevada amazed the Arab people, who named the area Monte del Sol, "Mount Sylayr". They could not have imagined that this sunny mountain would end up becoming one of Europe's temples of snow".
With more than 20 peaks over 3,000 meters in altitude, including the highest on the peninsula, the Mulhacén peak, Sierra Nevada is the southernmost ski resort with the most hours of sunshine in Europe. More than a million people witnessed this last season, exceeding expectations and confirming that the fame of the Sierra Nevada is growing year after year, even after two years of restrictions due to the pandemic. Sun and beach are not at odds with snow and skiing. If there is one thing that characterizes this part of the Spanish peninsula, it is the variety of climates and the different offers that can be found just a few kilometers away. If you like skiing, this is the place for you. Every season of the year has its charm.
A place to enjoy with the family
The Costa del Sol enjoys a mild climate in winter, a sort of oasis in the face of the region's sharp drop in temperatures. This contrast allows us to enjoy the best qualities of each climate. The snow takes center stage a few kilometers from the beach on a mountain that crowns a skyline made up of the coast of Granada, the best free tapas in the country, and the beautiful Alhambra. Hundreds of ski professionals are flocking to Sierra Nevada these days with the arrival of the first snowfalls, so whether you are a ski lover or you are fascinated by snow, prepare a getaway to this unique white-capped mountain.
